This is the grown-up “what’s in my bookbag” post. From commuting on the metro to working in a coffee shop, I have created my ideal work bag. Working in and commuting to an office has taught me the key items to keep in my work bag for a productive, effective, and confident day. Below is a list of what to include in your own work bag for a day of ease and success!
technology
This is a given for most people in today’s world. I love the days that I am not glued to a screen, but I like to keep all of my technology with me just in case. I always keep the following items in my workbag!
- Phone
- Laptop/i-Pad
- Headphone
- Chargers
- Pro Tip: Use cases for your technology! If you notice everything in your bag getting tangled and unorganized, I highly recommend investing in separate cases for my computer, chargers, and headphones. The case for my chargers originally just came with the computer case I ordered but has made a HUGE difference.
hygeine bag
There is something about fluorescent lighting, office air, and coffee that always makes me feel icky. I used to only bring chapstick and a hair tie in my bag. However, since I feel 10x better and more confident after freshening up, I started to pack a little hygiene bag. Feeling clean and put together is one of the small ways I boost my self-confidence. My little “freshen up bag” includes the following items.
- Hair Tie
- Chapstick
- Claw Clip
- Togo Tooth Brushes
- Oil Wipes
- Lip Gloss
- Travel Perfume
- Tampons
planner
I will always be a pen and paper kind of person. Online calendars are great but I find it best to be able to write everything out. Planners with a daily/monthly to-do are ideal. Some planners even have wellness trackers!
waterbottle
I love my brimma water bottle that has an insert for fruits. I take it everywhere with me and like to add lemon, strawberries, or cucumber.
